REGULATIONS OF

THE INTERNATIONAL MUSIC ONLINE COMPETITION

MEISTERSINGERS

1. General provisions

1.1. Founders, organizers:
Autonomous nonprofit organization for the development of culture and art
"Ivan Pokrovsky School";

1.2. Dates:
The competition is held twice a year:
from April 1 to May 30 and from November 1 to December 30 (via video recordings);

2.Goals and Objectives:
Popularization of classical art, introducing children, adolescents, and the general public to performance traditions;
Attracting the attention of teachers and a wide range of students to the academic classical repertoire;
Development and preservation of the best traditions of the Russian performance school;
Motivation for the development of the creative potential and professional skills of students and teaching staff;
Creating conditions for establishing creative contacts and strengthening creative ties between artists, young performers, and teachers from different countries;
Supporting the creative achievements of competition participants.

3. Participants:
Musicians of all ages from different countries.

3.1 Categories:

3.2 Age Groups:
The competition is held in the following age categories:

A – Age 9 and younger

B – Ages 10 to 11

C – Ages 12 to 14

D – Ages 15 to 19

E – Ages 20 to 24

F – Age 25 and older


For «Orchestra», «Ensemble» и «Сhoir» there are three age groups:

Juniors – Age 16 and younger

Adults – Age 17 to 24

Professional - from 25 no age limits


Participants must be of qualifying age as of

April,1 and November, 1 for the upcoming competition.



4. Procedure

4.1 . The auditions are held online, the participants should upload their videos to the YouTube channel.

5. Program
The program of the competition performance should consist of two or more works, various in character and style. It should include at least one work created by a composer born before 1850.

5.1. Duration
The duration of the competition video recording should not exceed 15 minutes.

5.2. Video Recording Requirements
The video should be recorded on the video camera or mobile phone fixed on a tripod. All pieces should be recorded in succession, no editing is allowed. The video should be shot horizontally in at least 1080 resolution. The video recording should be made no earlier than March 1 & October 1 year of contest.

6. Jury
Our jury is made up of internationally renowned musicians and pedagogues.

7. Evaluation criteria:

Level of performance

Degree of difficulty and impressiveness of repertoire
Performing culture
Choice of repertoire in accordance with the performing skills and the age of the performer.

8. Awards

8.1. In every category and group the participants are awarded

The Jury members are entitled to choose a Grand Prix winner among the First Prize winners of all categories and age groups.

8.2. First Prize winners of all categories and ages get an opportunity to have a 30-minute online masterclass with a member of the Jury. The competition prize-winners can be invited to perform gratuitously in concerts as well as offered to participate on special terms in other competitions and events organized by Ivan Pokrovsky School.

8.3. The teachers and accompanists of the winners receive Certificates of Excellence in recognition of their commitment to music education and students’ achievement displayed on the Meistersingers Competition. The certificate will be sent to the email address indicated in the application form.

9. Financial conditions
Solo performers pay a fee of 30 Euro while submitting their application on the competition website. Orchestras, ensembles and choirs pay a fee of 60 Euro (from the group). Application fee via bank payment is due in full, and will not be refunded by the competition board.

10. Application procedure and conditions

10.1. To participate in the competition, you must:
From April 1st to April 30th and from November 1st to November 30th of the competition year, respectively, complete the online application form, attaching the following documents:
- a scanned copy of the participant's passport or birth certificate;
It is necessary to mark with the sign that you have read the personal data processing policy and agree to the processing of personal data.

10.2. The applicant is fully responsible for the accuracy of the participant's information and the completeness of the application.

10.3. If the application is incorrectly completed, the participant's video recording will not be accepted for the competitive auditions, and the registration fee will not be refunded.

10.4. The competition results will be published on the competition website and on social media on May 15th and December 15th, respectively (two weeks after the application deadline).

10.5. The awards ceremony and jury master classes with the First Prize winners will be held from May 16th to 30th and December 16th to 30th, respectively.

10.6. Participation in the competition implies unconditional acceptance of all provisions of these rules.
